Yes! Finally! I thought it would never actually happen- but suddenly I see this! Israel is looking into building a canal- that's right, from the Mediteranean to the Red Sea. It would be bigger and better than the Suez.
A canal in Israel (Palestine) was suggested as early as the 1850s, but was never built (obviously). I suppose that once the Suez Canal was built, there was no real need- but now it seems that the Suez is becoming out of date, opening the door for a canal in Israel.
