Three programs to completely (well, nearly) rid you of pop-ups... forever! Bwahahahahaha!
1) Ad-Aware
Searches your system for programs which record your internet travels, as well as ones which flood you with pop-ups. It's a good idea to periodically download updates and run it.
2) Spybot Search & Destroy
Similar to Ad-Aware, but searches for spyware based on a different list. Plus, it has a great name.
3) Popup Popper
Takes care of "legitimate" popups on a site-by-site basis. Use with care... some web sites use "popups" for such things as comments. Blocking popups permanently from a certain site might also block parts of the site which you want to see.
Makes an extremely satisfying "pop" sound when it works.
