Imagine one of those commercials, where there's a sleek car gliding gracefully down a mountain road. The car turns and arcs, keeping in perfect line with the road, never slowing a fraction. The music builds to a crescendo. Then, smoothly, with absolute control and confidence, the car glides off the edge of a cliff, arcs gracefully through the air, and performs a perfect swan dive into the Pacific Ocean.
That's what my computer's doing right now.
